Social Sessions at The Stilton Dog Field

Several times a week we hold Social Sessions.  Either a Small Dog Session where puppies are welcome too.  A medium, a medium-large or a Big & Bouncy (XL) session.  These are not training sessions, I am not a qualified dog trainer, we just provide the space for dogs and people to mix.  Numbers are limited so things don't get out of hand.  Guests must stay with their dogs and are responsible for them at all times.  If your dog becomes disruptive we ask that you remove them and book private sessions.

PLEASE CONTACT US BEFORE BOOKING FOR THE FIRST TIME - UNLESS ITS A BREED MEET UP

If your dog hasn’t attended the session you’d like to book before, we ask that you contact us first.  This is so that we can make sure it’s the right group for your dog.

Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at enquiries@thestiltondogfield.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

If you have never been before, I would ask that you contact us first.  You may have always considered your doing to be big and boisterous , but we know our groups and where your dog might fit best.  You are welcome to pop along without your dog and have a look, gauge the group and if you think it is what you are looking for.

When you come to your first session, I would advise you to be 5 minutes early and your dog be first into the field, as they have a tendency to run like a mob to the gate to greet new dogs and it can be overwhelming for some dogs.

  • Only FRIENDLY dogs may attend our group sessions.
  • NO FULL MALES over 12 months old.  They must have been neautered.
  • No FEMALES in season
  • No ‘Humpers’ - we cannot have dogs who repeatedly mount other dogs
  • No aggressive training methods to be used in our field at any time
  • if you have a Greyhound who may nip when running, they MUST wear a muzzle
  • Pet Corrector (compressed air) spray may be used but only when absolutely necessary with the nozzle facing away from any dog’s face.
  • Disruptive dogs must leave the session

This sesession is full of small and toy breeds.  Small terriers, small spaniels, bichon, cockerpoo and young puppies of all breeds - particularly quieter or nervous pups.  When they get a bit bigger or too boisterous for this calm and reserved pack, we advise the medium dog group

This is an energetic friendly group.  Lots of zoomies, and play.  We get Springers, Whippets, shepherds, smaller or quieter labradors,  more boisterous terriers, lots of crossbreeds.

This is a new group.  Aimed at more confident/playful medium dogs and quieter bigger dogs. Ideally suited to labradors, crossbreeds, standard poodless, dalmations and the like.

This group is for VERY big dogs, or VERY confident dogs.  Boisterous and over the top is the theme.  As an indication, Labradors would seem small compared to this group.  We get lots of GSDs, Husky types, Dobermans etc.  It is specifically aimed at XL dogs or dogs that are just too 'Full On' for our Med-Large sized group.

From time to time we supply hot drinks in exchange for a donation to our chosen Dog Rescue Charity.  We recently sent £100 to The Biggies League and are always looking for suggestions for our next dog rescue charity.  We are currently fund-raising for dogs escaping the war in Ukraine
